Corrections Policy

Trustworthy journalism requires identifying and correcting meaningful errors rather than hiding them.

What we correct

Confirmed factual errors involving names, dates, numbers, quotations, institutions, rates, statistics, captions or context are corrected as promptly as practical.

Material corrections

If an error changes the meaning of a story or could affect a reader’s understanding, a correction or update note should be added. Minor spelling or formatting fixes may not require a note.

How to request a correction

Send the article URL, the disputed passage, the proposed correction and, where possible, an authoritative source through the Contact page.
